My Story

I have spent nearly 30 years working with children and adults, helping people develop confidence, resilience, and practical life skills through music education and other teaching systems.

Over the past several years, my work has been guided by a deeper set of questions.

  • How can I help people more effectively with stress?

  • How can I help people see their strengths and move toward their potential when stress keeps getting in the way?

  • Why, in 2026, are so many people still being taught what to do, but not how to work with the nervous system that determines whether they can actually do it?

Those questions led me into years of study.

Some of that journey began as I watched the world change around me. As smartphones, streaming services, and constant digital stimulation became part of everyday life, I noticed changes in the children and families I was working with. Attention, emotional regulation, and resilience seemed different than they had been years before, and I wanted to better understand why.

Part of that journey was also personal. As my own children experienced health challenges related to nutrition, I began learning more about the remarkable relationship between the body, the brain, and emotional well-being. It became clear that our physical and emotional health are deeply connected.

Looking back, I realize much of my career had already been centered on helping people calm their minds and bodies enough to step outside their comfort zones in pursuit of growth. I simply didn't have the language for it yet.

During the pandemic, that interest became much more intentional. Like many people, I found myself navigating uncertainty while recognizing my own need to better understand nervous system wellness. I began creating practical ways to help the people I served build greater capacity for self-leadership during times of stress.

At the encouragement of a friend, I decided to pursue additional education and professional training so I could serve people more effectively.

That journey led me into the study of nervous system science, emotional regulation, Root Cause Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Polyvagal Theory, and other disciplines that have shaped the way I understand stress, healing, and human potential. Along the way, I continued working closely with clients while observing what consistently created meaningful, lasting change.

I wasn't an easy sell. Before I was willing to use or teach something, I wanted to understand not only whether it worked, but why it worked, how it helped, and when it would be the most appropriate to use.

What became increasingly clear is that many people are carrying sustained stress without practical tools to work with their nervous system in real time.

They know what they want to do.

They know who they want to be.

But under pressure, they often lose access to their abilities.

The more I learned, the more I realized that lasting change doesn't begin with trying harder. It begins with creating the conditions that allow people to access the strengths they already have.

I began to recognize a pattern in the people who experienced lasting change.

One of the most important patterns I observed eventually became ARC™:

Awareness. Regulation. Choice.

ARC™ reflects a sequence I have seen repeatedly in people who experience lasting change.

People who experience lasting change first become aware of what they are experiencing. Then they learn how to regulate their nervous system. From that steadier place, they are able to make thoughtful, intentional choices.

As I continued learning and working with clients, I became increasingly aware of the responsibility that comes with teaching tools that influence people's emotional and nervous system health.

That realization shaped the direction of my work.

Today, I focus on practical, evidence-based skills that people can use in everyday life because I believe everyone deserves skills they can rely on when life is at its most challenging.
