About Christa

Christa Bates is a trauma-informed practitioner specializing in nervous system capacity restoration.

My approach

I work directly with the nervous system, using both practical tools and deeper therapeutic training to help people restore access to steadiness, choice and connection.

This work restores capacity - the ability to stay present, think clearly, and respond rather than react, especially under pressure. From that place, self-leadership and clarity emerge naturally.

Why this work matters to me:

I know firsthand what it takes to step out of generational patterns and create a healthier environment for the next generation of my family.

That experience shaped my understanding of how deeply our internal nervous system state influences the lives around us.

When people carry sustained pressure for too long, it can become difficult to access clarity, steadiness, and purpose.

The work I offer helps people reconnect with their internal capacity for safety, responsiveness, and self-trust.

This isn’t just individual change.

When someone strengthens their internal capacity, it affects their family, their relationships, and the environments they help shape.

I bring a steady, grounded presence and a clear structure for doing this work safely and effectively.

As capacity is restored, people often rediscover who they are, what truly matters to them, and how they want to move forward.

My Story

For the past three years, I’ve been focused on understanding how to help people navigate stress, overwhelm, and pressure more effectively.

During that time, I studied different approaches, worked closely with clients and explored what actually creates meaningful change.

What became clear is that many people are carrying sustained pressure, without having the tools to work with their nervous system in real time.

They know what to do.
But under pressure, they lose access to it.

As I went deeper into this work, I became increasingly aware of the responsibility that comes with teaching tools that impact people’s emotional and nervous system health.

That led me to prioritize approaches that are both practical, grounded in science and useable in real time..

One of the most impactful tools I found is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

It’s simple enough to learn, but powerful enough to support real nervous system regulation and emotional change.

It complements other forms of support and can be applied across a wide range of settings without disrupting existing approaches.

Over time, my work expanded beyond individual sessions.

I became interested in how this kind of support could reach more people- not just one-on-one, but at a broader level.

That’s what led me into advocacy.

I believe people should have access to practical tools that help them build capacity under stress, think clearly and lead themselves more effectively.

That belief is what led me to start the EFT Advocacy Movement.

This movement is focused on:

  • expanding access to nervous system capacity tools like EFT
  • promoting responsible and ethical use
  • supporting a culture of self-leadership in everyday life

The goal is to bring these tools into:

  • schools
  • workplaces
  • healthcare settings
  • and communities

Because when people learn how to work with their nervous system, things change.

  • They think more clearly.
  • They respond instead of reacting.
  • They reconnect with themselves.
  • And they begin to lead their lives with more intention.

And that kind of change doesn’t just impact individuals-

It strengthens families, communities and the environments we all share.
